The draft of this doccument was available to be viewed and submissions made on the content until March 5th, 2014. We appreciate everyone who took the time to give us their important feedback. Every facet of the stable industry in Alberta including: stable owners, operators and managers as well as stable staff and clients were asked to provide input. Public input was critical in our effort to ensure that this manual reflects a collective understanding of an equine facility's expectations and recommended practices in Alberta. Everyone was encouraged to provide comments and suggestions about the manual and all submissions were made through the online system.
This valuable manual was developed for all stable owners and operators alike. In addition, two public forums were held in fall of 2013 to discuss the content for this manual in Edmonton at Farmfair International as well as at Spruce Meadows in Calgary. These public consultation periods have helped guide the direction of this manual and helped to generate the content needed for inclusion.
